Bowoto Jephthah Oluwatiseyifumi Tanimola, famously known as Akpororo, is a renowned Nigerian stand-up comedian, vocalist, and actor. Raised in Warri, Delta State, Nigeria, despite being a native of Ilaje, Ondo State, Akpororo’s journey into the limelight began as a local gospel musician before transitioning to comedy. In 2008, he clinched victory in the Calabar zone of the National Comedy Challenge by Opa Williams, catapulting him into the spotlight. Following his move to Lagos in 2009, Akpororo emerged victorious in AY’s Open Mic Challenge after initially securing second place, solidifying his place in Nigeria’s comedy scene. His breakout moment came in 2013 at “Basketmouth’s Laff and Jam” show, leading to numerous appearances in high-profile events like “AY Live.” Standing at 5 feet 7 inches tall, Akpororo hosted his inaugural comedy show, “Akpororo vs Akpororo,” at the prestigious Shell Hall, MUSON Centre, on August 12, 2014. Not limiting himself to comedy, Akpororo ventured into acting in 2014, starring in acclaimed films like Headgone and The Antique, earning him multiple nominations at the 2015 Golden Icons Academy Movie Awards. With a magnetic stage presence and undeniable talent, Akpororo continues to captivate audiences with his humor, music, and acting prowess.
